This year the Mt Gretna Arts Council will begin a scholarship program related to the arts. The program will award a maximum of four $1,000.00 scholarships in the areas of literature, theater, visual arts and music to students entering a postsecondary educational institution that could be a college, university, art school or art institute.

The scholarships initially will be awarded to students from the Annville-Cleona, Palmyra, Cornwall-Lebanon, ELCO, Northern Lebanon and Lebanon City Schools or a permanent Mt. Gretna resident and will be competitive in nature. Generally each submission should consist of the application form, a portfolio representative of the work, and a letter of recommendation from either the appropriate teacher or guidance counselor.

The completed package should be submitted to the Mount Gretna Arts Council Scholarship, PO Box 513, Mt. Gretna, PA 17064 not later than 1 May 2007. The scholarships will be awarded at the Arts Council Summer Premiere on 26 May 2007. We are excited about this program and ask your assistance in publicizing our new program.
