The setting for Gretna Theatre's Annual Gala is the elegant Hotel Hershey...The lovely Fountain Court at the Hotel Hershey is the setting for the Champagne Reception and Silent Auctions...
Attendees enjoy a sumptuous dinner in the Garden Terrace Ballroom while photo highlights of the recent season are projected throughout the evening...Gretna Theatre's President of the Board of Directors, J. Thomas Dunlevy (left), greets the Gala guests . Producing Artistic Director, Larry Frenock (right), hosts the event as the evening's Master of Ceremonies .... A high point of the evening is the bestowing of the Coghlan Award for meritorious service to Gretna Theatre. This year's Coghlan Award goes to LEBANON VALLEY BRETHREN HOME in Palmyra for their unwavering support - with attendance of many residents at Gretna performances, sponsorships of individual productions as well as the Gala, housing support for many of our out-of-town artists during the 2009 season, co-producing and hosting our production of "The Littlest Angel" at LBVH...the list can go on and on! The four 2010 Gretna Gala Idol Scholarship Competition finalists will perform The attendees of the Gala choose the winner from among these young performers and votes are tabulated while the live auction occurs....

The finale of the Gala is the announcement of the Gretna Gala Idol - pictured above (right) is the 2009 winner, Jillian Kinsey of Middletown who went on to a leading role in Gretna Theatre's Peter Pan in the 2010 season, roles in Gretna's Theatre for Young Audiences series, and received scholarship funding and family tickets to Gretna Theatre and participated in the Gretna Theatre Summer Professional Internship Program!
